Ongoing Support

A senior team on retainer. As much engineering as you need.

The most successful Shopify Plus brands treat their storefront as a product one that requires a consistent, trusted technical team to evolve alongside the business. As your retained partner, we embed into your operation, learning your stack, integrations, and commercial priorities. Monthly retainer hours flex across new feature development, platform updates, A/B testing, performance monitoring, and rapid issue response. No account handoffs, no re-briefing just a senior team that's as invested in your store's performance as you are.

The work

The storefront you launched isn't the storefront you'll keep.

Every Shopify launch is a snapshot. Within six months your catalog has shifted, your stack has accumulated three new apps, performance has drifted, and the marketing team has a backlog of campaigns waiting on engineering bandwidth.

Seedcms runs monthly retainers for brands that want continuous improvement instead of project-by-project fire drills. A senior squad embedded with your team. Weekly sprints. P1 incident response. As much engineering as you need.

It's how we work with most of our long-term clients. It's why the work compounds.

What's included.

What an Ongoing Support & Development engagement covers the scope, the deliverables, and the operational reality of shipping each piece.

01

Continuous development

Feature shipping, campaign builds, theme evolution, app integrations. The work that doesn't stop just because the launch deck got approved.

  • Weekly sprint cadence
  • Feature + campaign delivery
  • Theme evolution
  • App integration & rotation
02

Performance & SEO

Core Web Vitals don't stay good on their own. Ongoing performance work, SEO maintenance, and the engineering discipline to keep both healthy as the site grows.

  • Quarterly performance audits
  • Core Web Vitals monitoring
  • Technical SEO maintenance
  • Performance budgets in CI
03

Triage & maintenance

P1 incident response, bug triage, security patches, Shopify API upgrades. The unglamorous, essential work that keeps your storefront running.

  • 24-hour P1 response SLA
  • Slack-first communication
  • Shared GitHub + Linear
  • Security patch coordination

Our approach.

How we run an Ongoing Support & Development engagement. Sequenced so each phase de-risks the next.

Step 01

Onboard

Codebase walk-through, access provisioning, runbook creation, comms channels set up. We aim to ship our first PR inside week one.

Step 02

Plan

Quarterly roadmap aligned to your business goals. Backlog grooming with your team. Sprint planning that respects both planned work and the unplanned.

Step 03

Sprint

Weekly cycles. Senior engineers picking up tickets, designing solutions, shipping to staging, getting feedback. Cadence over heroics.

Step 04

Ship

Production deploys on whatever rhythm your business needs usually multiple per week. Feature flags, ramp-up, rollback plan. Boring releases are good releases.

Step 05

Review

Bi-weekly demo with your team. Monthly performance + SEO report. Quarterly retrospective on what shipped, what didn't, and what the next quarter should hold.

Step 06

Plan

Quarterly roadmap reviews loop back to the start. The retainer is a continuous engagement, not a series of stitched-together projects.

Honest answers.

The questions we get about Ongoing Support & Development before brands sign. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

What's the minimum commitment?

30 days notice to cancel, no long-term lock-in. Most retainers run for years because the work compounds and the relationship pays off not because anyone is contractually trapped.

We're transparent up front: if the work for any given month doesn't justify the retainer, we'll tell you and we'll pause.

Can we scale the retainer up or down?

Yes, with 30 days notice in either direction. Big launch coming? Scale up for a quarter. Quiet stretch? Scale down. The team flexes the rate and minimums adjust with it.

We size retainers in squads, not hours, so you're buying senior capability at a predictable rate rather than billing piecemeal.

How do we communicate day-to-day?

Shared Slack channel, daily availability, weekly sprint demo, monthly business review. Tickets in your Linear / Jira / your tool of choice. PRs in your GitHub.

We work the way your team works we don't impose our own project management on you.

Do you do on-call / P1 response?

Yes. 24-hour P1 SLA is built into every retainer; faster in practice. The team has access to your monitoring (Sentry, Datadog, your stack) and a defined escalation path.

True 24/7 follow-the-sun coverage is available as an upgrade for brands that need it we have offices in California and London.

Will our in-house dev team have direct access to your engineers?

Yes. Slack-first, no account-manager funnel. Your engineers talk to ours directly. PR reviews go both ways. We work as an extension of your team, not as a parallel agency org.

How do you report on what gets done?

Weekly sprint demo, bi-weekly written summary, monthly performance + SEO report, quarterly business review. Always against the metrics you care about not vanity dashboards.

Everything we ship is in your GitHub history; everything we propose is in your project management tool. Nothing hidden.
